Problem with vSphere 6.7 Update 1
Veeam has just reported a backup issue with vSphere 6.7 Update 1. It appears that the Update 1 update of vSphere 6.7 completely interrupts the backup job. It is therefore advisable not to update the vSphere at this time.
You can found more information on the Veeam Forum.
New features offered vSphere 6.7 Update 1
Sphere 6.7 U1 is is considered to be an important release. Many new features have been added to vSphere 6.7 U1.
Since vSphere 6.7 U1, the vSphere client is now the only client needed to manage vCenter server. From this client, it is possible to configure a vCenter HA cluster (VCHA) or use vSphere Update Manager (VUM) to update VMWare Tools. In addition, many features have been improved in addition to their addition to vSphere Client.
vCenter Server Converge Tool
The vCenter Server Converge Tool is a tool that offers administrators the ability to migrate an external Platform Services Controller (PSC) architecture to the simpler, easy-to-manage embedded PSC architecture. Thus, fewer VMs are to be managed and more load balancers for HA. In addition, multi-site replication technology is becoming less complex. To operate the tool, an integrated PSC must be installed on the vCenter Server application. It is also necessary to establish a replication agreement (integrated PSC / External PSC).
Be careful though, the tool only supports vCenter 6.7 U1. This tool is present on VCSA ISO.
Enhancements for HCI and vSAN
Very interesting features that simplify the configuration and scaling of a host cluster. A new workflow has been added to provide a simple wizard for creating a cluster, adding a host and configuring hosts. The configuration includes
- HA and DRS
- improved vMotion
- Data warehouse vSan
- Network with virtual distributed switch (VDS)
A validation of the cluster can be performed, this will validate the configured parameters.
